I would like to know if full payment is possible for a condo transaction. For instance, a studio condo costs $600k and I have $600k in cash on hand. Would I be able to make full payment for the condo?

Hi;

Yes, you would be able to pay in full cash without taking any loan in your scenario above. But please do take note that there is also Stamp Duty( rates depending on your citizenship) that you need to pay as well as the Legal Fees. Dear Sir/Mdm,

Full cash payment is possible but you also need to take into account the other transactional cost such as Buyer Stamp Duty and the Legal Fees which is slightly less than 3% of the purchased price.

In my opinion, in the current low interest rates environment, this may not be the best option going forward because of the low cost of borrowing. You may wish to leverage on a bank interest rates of 1.5% and use the spare funds to invest in other products which potentially can give you a higher returns. In this way, you can make your money work harder for you.

Do take note that there are other fees involved in a property transaction, namely stamp duties, legal conveyancing fee etc.

Yes, you can make full payment for the property. If it is resale, then you will have to make the full payment at the completion date. If it is new launch, then will be the progressive payment.
Do take note there will be other fees which you need to take note of. This will include but not limited to Legal fee and stamp duty.

However, you should also consider and do a detailed financial planning if paying in cash or taking a mortgage is better. It may look like paying cash in full look better but however the opportunity cost which you will incur if you place all the funds in the property?

In addition, you will need funds for renovation, furniture, etc.
