Firstly, go for various career seminars.
Work with someone you can trust and have time for you. Passing the RES and getting the license is only the first step. There is so many things that we don’t know and unique issues that we will face. Everyday, I’m learning something new. But there is someone out there who had faced the similar issues before and having that someone to help is incredibly rare.
Having said that, the only person you can depend on is yourself. Treat this like a business. You will be doing accounts, marketing, prospecting and many more. You will be doing so many roles at a time.
The initial cost and the overriding is quite high at the beginning. You might not get 1 closing even after 6 months. Eating Maggi is the way of life for new salesperson. That is why most salespersons quit after a year only to renew their license for “fun”.
You literally have to sweat. Doing door knocking, answers queries such as this, cold calling, Facebook marketing and many many more.
If you want to come to this business and do very well like your friends, then there should not be any doubt in your mind. It is hard business.
Save some money first.. At least 6 months of your current income. You also need to save for the upcoming business expenses.
