Yes, this site is only opened to real estate agents who have subscribed to an account to market the properties.

I cannot disagree or agree with your statement made but just wonder how many properties have you transacted over the past 14 years for your impression through an agent and how many properties have you transacted without an agent for your impression to make the statement?

Regarding the website, there are other available websites/forums that provide free advertising facilities for agents and owners alike. And i believe why this site is so hugely popular is because of the marketing cost that they have invested, and this is the reason (i think) why their focus is agents. I have clients that own multiple properties and usually they will end up setting their own property firm that will manage their investments, i am sure they will be allowed to advertise here as well.

Regarding Agents providing no value add, I do not think i need to say much. I used to work in a few MNCs before.The MNCs which i worked for would be the same, the few thousands that they hire and there are always a few who do not contribute to the company at all but they would still be drawing the same amount as the others. I only regret to hear that you have not met someone that impresses you yet.

Regardless, I do admit that there are a lot of things that we can improve on, and like any industry, it's always a learning experience and maybe who knows, I might even learn from you.

If it's merely selling a property, an agent may or may not not value add much.

However, a good agent is able to maintain the selling price at a level that reward the seller. A smart seller is able to reward a good agent to go the extra mile and achieve the top price a property can fetch.

Seller always want the highest price and buyer is only willing to pay the least price that he can secure the property. You need somebody to bring both parties to a common ground and close the deal.

For sale transaction without an agent; like it or not, usually one of party is not in-tune with the market conditions.
