My house was bought at $2.20k but with $40k grant for staying near my parents. Hence, we bought at 1.80k. Our house roughly can be sold about 4.70k at the current market for telok blangah for 4 room flats. We wanted to move to 5 room blocks at telok blangah after staying for 5 years. The 5 room may cost abt 550k to 600k. Can we afford it as we may have $120k of loan from hdb. Would hdb disapprove of our 2nd loan. Our total gross income is about 7k per mth. Hope to hear from anyone soon.

Hello Siti,

if you are buying a 2nd resale flat in the open market, you do not need to pay resale revy. As sinagporeans with total income of under 7k, you are still entitled to a 2nd HDB loan.

Your situation is quite straight-forward, apply for another HLE first and see how much loan you can get. Only after your HLE is approved, can you start your planning.

you have to consider following: using cash or cpf , monthly payment for the new unit.
