In this case, yes he can buy resale hdb but both will need to dispose their private properties within 6 months after key collection to resale hdb. They can't keep the private properties. Thanks and hope to assist with your housing plans further.

As married couple, they are considered as an entity. With the purchase of HDB unit, they would need to sell the private property within 6 months from ley collection of the HDB unit.
