Hi, this depends on the initial agreement in the tenancy agreement and the number of access card stated in the inventory list initially. If it is not stated, it will only be provided out of goodwill.

If you are currently or planning to find a property agent, I can assist.

Hi,

I would be most glad to assist you further and pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Have a good day ahead. By the way, I have such request too but I rejected it cos the guest is not an occupier listed in the TA and so my landlord does not have to entertain such a request.

There is no obligations to do so and that is why the tenant can only request and not demand.

I have been in the real estate business since 2009, with more than 14 years of experience serving the Singapore real estate market.

I am very active in the residential segment of Singapore real estate market, having transacted hundreds of deals from HDBs to private condominiums and landed properties in Singapore, and have handled many unique cases in sales and purchases as well as rental deals.

Over the years, I have also established a network reaching out to more than 9,400 expatriates, bringing my market presence to both in and outside of Singapore. This has created an additional exposure when I manage my client's portfolios, on top of the conventional on and offline platforms, where other estate agents are relying on. This has allowed me to consistently convert leads into results.

With an evolving market, where change is the only constant, I have also been investing in upgrading of my knowledge and skills sets to improve myself and meet the demands of current and future market.

We are offering our clients a complimentary first consultation without obligations (Absolutely FREE!). Schedule for your FREE session today!

In Singapore, landlords of condominium units are generally not obligated to provide extra access cards for tenants' guests. Access cards are typically issued based on the number of occupants listed in the tenancy agreement and the condominium's management policies. Here's what you should consider:

1. Tenancy Agreement Terms:
Review the terms of the tenancy agreement to see if there are any clauses regarding access cards and guests.
Some agreements may specify the number of access cards provided and whether additional cards can be requested or obtained at the tenant's expense.
2. Condominium Management Policies:
Check with the condominium's management office or the building's management corporation (MCST) to understand their policies regarding access cards for tenants and guests.
Some condominiums may have strict regulations on access control and may not allow additional cards for guests.
3. Landlord-Tenant Communication:
Discuss the tenant's request with open communication. Clarify any concerns or limitations regarding access cards and guest policies.
If the condominium management allows for additional access cards, consider accommodating the tenant's request if it aligns with the terms of the tenancy agreement.
4. Security and Liability:
Consider the security implications of providing extra access cards. Additional cards may pose a risk to the security of the condominium premises if they are lost or misused.
Discuss any liability issues with the tenant and ensure that they understand their responsibility for the proper use and safekeeping of the access cards.
5. Alternative Solutions:
Explore alternative solutions to accommodate the tenant's guests, such as temporary access arrangements or the use of visitor management systems provided by the condominium.
Encourage the tenant to adhere to the condominium's guest registration procedures to ensure compliance with security protocols.
Conclusion:
While landlords are generally not obligated to provide extra access cards for tenants' guests, it's essential to consider the terms of the tenancy agreement, the condominium management policies, and security implications before making a decision. Maintaining clear communication with the tenant and the condominium management can help address the request effectively while ensuring the security and compliance of the premises.
