Punggol to host new SAFRA club

27 Jun 2014

A new $57 million waterfront SAFRA club in Punggol is expected come early 2016.

Integrated with the Punggol Waterway Park, the new SAFRA Punggol located along Sentul Crescent will consist of five storeys and house a suite of facilities for enrichment, recreation, fitness and entertainment.

In his speech at the building’s Ground-breaking Ceremony on 18 June, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said Punggol is a growing new town with about 150,000 residents, including NSmen and many young families, by next year.

“When SAFRA Punggol opens in early 2016, it will be easily accessible to the more than 70,000 NSmen who live in the north-eastern part of Singapore,” he said.

Separately, the existing SAFRA club at Mount Faber will be enhanced later this year and is expected to be completed in 2016, while SAFRA Tampines will be redeveloped in 2016 and slated to be completed two years later.

Additionally, a new SAFRA club will also be built in the north-western part of Singapore.

Mr Teo added HomeTeam NS will complete the upgrading of its clubhouses in Balestier, Chinatown and Bukit Batok this August, and a new HomeTeam NS clubhouse in the Tampines town hub will also be ready by 2016.
