New Owner
This is the best condo I've lived in - far outstripping those in the city. And the fact that there are no saunas and BBQ pits - great for noise reduction!! I love it here - windy, cool, peaceful perfect for families, young couples and even retirees. -

I totally disagree with
I totally disagree with the review posted by Early Mover: First of all, the helicopter noise is not existent. It is not "noise shattering" as what is mentioned until the glass door can virbrate and shake. The pool is almost empty almost on all weekends. The total number of units is only 140 units, how can it be as noisy as he claimed until the stage that he cant have a proper afternoon nap. This is totally absurb my renovation contractor also shared that the quality of the workmanship is above average. Some of the property developed by renowned developer can be not up to standards. For Northwood, it is ok considering that it is freehold and developed by UIC. I think there are many good reasons for a buyer to select Northwood. The greenery, peace and limited number of units make it a good buy as compared to nearby 99yrs condo going at much higehr price.. -

Interesting review
I am one of the first few owners who move into Northwood in Nov 2009. It was quite amazing to see comments mentioning BBQ pits and sauna because there are no such facilities in this development (in fact, I have been fighting for BBQ pits, there is a place built to hold moveable pit but was told by management office to wait for all owners to move in). As for the pool, it is packed every weekend/public holidays with relatives and friends children that makes lots of noise (even though not all units are filled yet). I can never take afternoon naps during weekends since I moved in. Finally, I have decided to move out after spending tons of money in renovation and a few more additional headaches are: 1. Yes, the helicopter does matter. Before the helicopter flies, our bedroom doors and kitchen glass sliding door would start vibrating and this is really irritating. And not to mention the noise that disturbs my son afternoon naps. 2. Lots of insects, mosquitoes and flies, especially during rainy days. Hardly open the sliding door since I move in. 3. Poor quality workmanship – the white concrete between the tiles kept breaking up and has to be fixed every month. The kitchen sliding glass door is always misaligned and needs to be fixed and many more……… 4. Finally – some of the units face directly with sunrise and sunset and the whole house at times feel like a microwave oven. I bought this place because of the beautiful scenery, the layout and its freehold status, and unfortunately it did not work out for me. -

Great buy
I must clarify I am not a property agent trying to bring up the price of this property. I have stayed here for 6 weeks - the so-called obnoxious helicopter noise is actually not that intrusive and infrequent. In fact, it is no louder than what is heard in any other residence in the area and if you are in the house, it's rather muted (like someone doing a reno for one min a few blocks away) With it situated off the main road, it is really peaceful. Pool is great and no BBQ pits and sauna ensures privacy and serenity. This is probably one of the best condos in the north and great for families who treasure their private time. I will be staying here for a long time for sure. I have stayed at other condos before and this really trumps all - love it! -

Very Happy
I have bought a unit in March at around 700psf. I think it is a good investment for a freehold. I always like peaceful environment and Northwoods really meet my demand. Full of greens and very quiet in the evening. With only 140 units avaliable, you can feel that you are not cramping into a congested plot as compared to the popular Estuary which is going around 800psf. As Northwood is away from the main Sembawang Main road, you are recommended for couples with children who needs a peacful haven to live in. Both my kids room are facing some greenery so they can study peacfully in the evening. I also expect the property to appreciate in the next 2-3 years. Value for money. btw, each floor only serves 2 unit. When you come up from the basement car-park lift, you will land the floor with 2 units. So for those really looking for "privacy" ( I am not anti-social even as I type now as I have been living HDB for past 30 years), you will love to live in Northwood. -

Nice property with good value
This is a lovely and nice property with great value for investment. Environment is beautiful, quiet and peaceful with large patio for family gathering. My family loves this place very much eversince we have moved in and we are going to keep this property for a long time to come. Moreover, the newly launched 99 years Estuary in Khatib Yishun has an average price of S$800 psf while Northwood average price is only S$669 psf presently with a freehold title attached to it. Northwood is definitely a great investment. I expect price of Northwood to go up even further in the future when investors and home owners start to realize the value. -

Nice Place for stay
We have shifted in to this place in Jan and so far no complaint . Its true that we can hear the helicopter noise at times but it is still within acceptable level. The landscape is nice and very cooling in the night because there are no high rise buildings blockage. This estate is nestled in a landed private houses.You can feel very relaxed at night by sitting at the big patio area to enjoy the quiet environment. -

lovely environment
since I moved in, never heard helicopter noise. Peaceful environment cos surrounding all private houses. Just need to walk or jog on the jogging track round the estate for a good workout for healthy lifestyle anytime. Food centre and market only five minutes drive, very convenient. Good schools in Yishun car journey within 10 - 15 mins. Good quality of internal fixtures / flooring. this is my home sweet home:) -

VERY LOUD HELICOPTER NOISE
The helicopter noise in earlier morning and evenining time is iunbearable. -

Overpriced
Went to view over weekend and checked out development at night. Considering location, a bit out of the way. Helicopter noise is deafening. Although exclusive, but too far from central. Not worth the price as maybe difficult to resell. The price may not appreciate that much. -
