Been renting at The Sail for 3 years now.Generally pleasant place and wanted to buy a place but I'm glad I didn't.New facility management CBRE has been making things super inconvenient.Getting out.GL -

Poor condition
1. Rubbish chute has been broken and not repaired for >3 years. 2. Cockroach infestation on lvl 8 and staircase / fire escape. 3. Drainage Issues. 4. Lift display often broken. -

Iconic waterfront residential building
Location is fantastic. Stone’s throw to many hotels and key shopping nodes. Great for lifestyle. Used to reside in a heartland condominium but sold the place as council was very self entitled. People here are way friendlier. Building paint works are showing signs of ageing but repainting and renovation works are underway. Hoping that the failty chute will be rectified soon! -

WORST PLACE I'VE STAYED IN
As background, I've lived in Singapore for almost a decade now and I'm a professional in my (very!) early 30s. I've lived in HDB in Tanglin/Queenstown and condos in Newton before moving to the heart of Marina Bay to be close to work. My unit turned moldy within months of moving in. The ventilation is poor as windows do not open fully, limited balcony space, poor extractor fan in the toilet etc. As my unit was a one bedder studio, the toilet steam evaporated on my bedroom wall which eventually got covered in toxic mold. This spread to all my belongings - designers handbags, designer shoes, designer clothes etc. etc. Living in "cheaper" places were far better than living in the Sail. I eventually had to pay the penalty to early terminate my lease. Pros - loved the concierge (Jonathan in particular, you are the best!), and the convenience of living 3-5 mins from work (lunchtime naps anyone?). Otherwise, do not bother with this terrible development. -

Relatively good value
The Sail mgt has its issues with maintenance compared to the newer condos but it's acceptable to us at this point. It's still one of the best located condos in Marina Bay, right next to the bay, and the only one with tennis courts facilities. A stone's throw from the Marina Bay boardwalk for my run/stroll and also walking distance to office. There can be many events happening here - fireworks, The Formula 1 race, and so on. Ideal for us, since we can either walk to those events and/or watch them from the 44th floor in our tower. We recently have the added convenience of grocery shopping at new supermarket at the nearby One Marina. -

Just for show
Been living at Oleander Towers, The Bencoolen and this condo. By far The Sail was the worst one. Most of my two years stay the sauna wasn't working. People smoking at the pool and security doesn't care. Light switches in the apartments were made specifically for this and similar condos, and are made in china... difficult to get and faulty all the time. Watch for rubbish when swimming. For management it takes month to get thing solved, some stuff never. There is no fairprice, no hawkers centers (except touristy Lau Pasat), nothing. I had two bedroom for myself and my girlfriend. The small bedroom has NO sound proofing. So if you want to rent it for two couples or similar, then don't bother. From six elevators there are only 4 working, and sometimes you spend 5+ minutes waiting for one. This is your Luxury condo made in unspecified country. If you have money then get something better around. If you are savvy then find something in other areas. -

Horrible Trash and Insect Problem
The Garbage chute in Tower 1 has been out of order for 6+ months. Trash is stored on the floors and taken out every day or two. The floors smell like a dumpster. There are ghost ants, flies, and roaches throughout the building. Apartments near to the garbage rooms are infested with insects. The management company has done nothing to rectify the issue with the garbage chute and has no plans to resolve. Elevators are CONSTANTLY out of order. Guard staff are rude and won't allow a car or taxi to wait for a pickup without endlessly driving around the building despite no other traffic. Singapore's absolute worst value for in town living. An absolute nightmare. Concierge staff is nice. -

Choose elsewhere
Stinky and sticky carpets in gym that have not been cleaned for centuries. Refuse chimney is jammed and sealed forever! Not temporary! Poor management and false fire alarm wakes you up at the mid night from time to time. -

The Sail 2015
Reviews regarding The Sail was terrible two years ago and that was why we decided to rent elsewhere. However, two years on and we are looking at this condo once again. Can anyone please tell me if the huge problems with awful management, rude front desk, broken down shared water pipe between two towers, sewerage smell, insect problem, dirty windows, etc... have been resolved? I would like to hear honest comments from recent or current tenants, not landlords or agents hyping it up. Thank you. -
