Sail @ Marina Condo is one of the most popular condo and well located next to the Marina Bay Financial Centre. With many units commanding wide views of the Marina Bay and city areas, this is very suitable for expats or residents working in the financial district -

Soon to be uninhabitable.
I'm currently living in The Sail and have to say that it's great if you want to cut down on commuting time. There are also some nice bars / restaurants nearby. Unfortunately there is a looming problem. There is a pipe running from one tower into the other, since the pump in one of the towers failed. This has been the case for several months now, with no sign of resolution. I was discussing this with an engineer friend of mine and he reckons that if a single pump is now servicing both towers, it's only a matter of time before that pump also fails. So think twice about living here as you may end up with no water in the building! Also, rents are falling in Singapore guys, why the high rates? -

Not worth the money at all
All, I lived in The Sail for 4 years. Contracts with landlords are extremely negative for someone who wants to rent it. Think twice before you rent and review all details! most likely your landlord wants that you pay every screw that is missing. The big pipeline is pathetic. the mgt of this building doesn't want to pay to repair it. So it is an endless discussion and again and I do not see any progress at all. the equipemnt in the gym is 5 years old and never replaced. Knowing that the mgt is not capable, it will take another 5 years to replace. there was so much construction and so much noise all these years. due to other buidlings there is no sun anymore. the prices for rent are outragegous and IMHO not in line with the market conditions at all. over 500 apartments are being offered for rent. So it looks like that The Sail has had its good years. Don't stay here, unless it is just a roof and a bed and you want to walk in 3 minutes to your work in the FBD. cheers -

The Sail at 6 Marina Blvd
We lived in two separate units of the Sail building in the last 14 months. Experience was vivid. In one case the Landlord was a huge problem. He did not return deposit my company paid for frivolous reasons even though the rental agent from his side (owner side) cleared us for no damage and signed the Handover Document. We could not do anything and lost the entire deposit. In the other case, the unit was fine and mostly no problem. Concierge at large was OK to surprising. They would not even hold a thing to give to someone who we could not meet otherwise. In the months from February to late June 2013 there was a huge pipe that ran across from the garage area to the Tower 1 which blocked all access to the incoming traffic and it became a huge problem. No one seemed to worry about the situation. It could not be resolved. View of the Sail building is nice as it overlooks Marina Bay. But that is about the only good thing at the price you pay. I would recommend living in Sail if you like good view of MBS. -

Not worth the money
I've stayed at The Sail for six months now as an expatriate. Location wise this place is perfect as it is a stones throw away from my office in the Marina Bay Financial Centre. However in terms of pricing, this place leaves a lot to be desired. The concierge at the door are always patronising and rude to occupants. One set of escalators from the link mall to The Sail, the one closer to the Japanese restaurant downstairs is perpetually out of order. The lift walls are damaged- no repairs have been done. The screen indicating the movement of the lift is out of order for the longest while. The maintenance of this place is appalling. Some nights the fire alarm just sets off and there is no direction from management on whether it is a real emergency or a false alarm. On 29 April this year, I was shocked to find a letter slipped under my door regarding water disruption and how residents should head to the 8th floor for water- we are talking about people living in 1,100 units! Thank god I was out of town that week - if I was around I would immediately buy a room at the Fullerton Bay. Pest control is quite poor as well. There are mosquitoes even on the higher floors- I'm on the 50th by the way! For groceries, food and basic amenities - be warned that these are easily available on weekdays but in the weekends when the city is resting and there's no banking, the place is dead! You need to be prepared to travel out by train to buy food and groceries. The train is a ten minute walk from the apartment. Overall, this place is convenient and the views are amazing. For a tenant like me, all the shortcomings are temporary but I would hesitate to spend my hard earned money investing on this place. -

Great Building, Awful Property Management
We have lived at The Sail for 5 years now and were one of the first to move into a unit in Tower 2 and then moved to Tower 1. Most of the units at The Sail have GREAT views and the location is really superb. Close to shops, cinemas, underground, air-conditioned 'links'. The building is truly iconic and (mostly) the security and concierge staff are friendly and helpful, if a little bureaucratic at times.. If you want to move in, there are always empty units to choose from. The first 3 years we stayed at The Sail were great. However, the property management are really letting the building, tenants and co-owners down in the last 12 months. Maintenance has worsened considerably. Elevators are out of commission for months, due to ‘poor design’. A main sewer pipe has cracked recently and is going to take 'months' to repair. In the meantime, a temporary pipe blocks the main lobby and access road. The Fire Emergency Plan is frightenly poorly implemented. Security guards do not really know what to do, fire tests are very few and there is no enforcement of evacuation rules during alarms. The garbage chute is small and communal – some people just leave it outside their unit. Repairs (eg. electric doors fail) can take very long to be repaired while waiting for "Committee" approval. The Lifts have been allowed to de-grade. Knock and scratches remain unfixed, TVs in the lifts remain blank and security cameras are installed with wires hanging out. The Property management team do not answer emails and it can take many visits to even see them. We're moving out next month. -

Rude concierge, poorly constructed place
Very bad reception service - went up to the receptionist to inquire on my left parcel. She was in the midst of chatting with her friend who I assume is a part time helper in one of the units here. Upon going up to her she was reluctant to even look at me nor stop her conversation; felt like I was disrupting her conversation. It was her friend who actually felt embarrassed and asked to be excused so that the "receptionist" could tend to my query. Another time when upon inquiring the opening hours of the facilities within this property, the "receptionist" flat out told me to read the "house rules". This service is appalling and not acceptable, not for a condo which touts itself as a high class living place!! On top of that after one week of staying here, noticed that the walls are starting to have crack lines. -

Front Desk Staff
My husband and I visited 'The Sail' this weekend, as we were viewing to rent a unit there. We waited half an hour for our agent to turn up, and during that time, the filipino receptionist sat at her desk merrily chatting away on her mobile phone, loudly in tagalog. She hardly stopped to draw breath, not even when tenants or owners came by to complain and report something to her. I was appalled! We viewed a condo above the 44th floor, and the bathrooms were falling apart/ quite tacky. The external windows were so grimy, it was hard to admire the super MBS view. Management obviously needs to buck up their ideas... and fire the front desk staff, just for starters!! -

Everything falling apart
Poor Finishing. Noisy. Security lobby turn to 24hrs 7-11..anybody can come in. That's not all, is it me only but the bathroom smell. Plus point, great view of MBS. -

Great view. Nice Apartment. Convenient.
The Sail at Marina Bay is 1 of 2 condos in Marina Bay area with full view of Marina Bay. If you are looking for spectacular view, this is the condo to go for. Most apartments are nicely furnished. This is easily of one of Singapore's top choice in terms of location. You get the best in shopping, dining, clubbing and even gardens. The only drawback in the past 1-2 years is poor property management, it is time to replace the property management team. Some areas that can be improved include elevator upgrading (why use carpet in the elevator!), more friendly and professional frontline staffs and better response to maintenance issues. -
