Hi,

Unfortunately no, private property owners have to wait out a 30 month period after they sell their private property before they can apply new EC. Once its privatized, its considered a private property.

You can apply to buy a new EC again, but only after you sold your current house and wait for 30 months.

The standard stamp duties applies, together with 30% mortgage servicing ratio.

Do take note that combined income ceiling of $14k applies too.

Do take note that as a private property owner, you have to dispose off your current property and observe a waiting period of 30 months before you can apply for a new EC.

Assuming you'd sold your privatized EC, then YOUR objective of buying EC 5-10 years ago would have been met. If you have not sell, then your situation is worst off now as compared to 2-3 years ago. Why I know, because I'd walked down that path. I sold off mine 4yrs ago (still top 5% psf until today), buy into a premium location in Bt Timah at record low during a "bull market".
