Hi Agnes,
Why are you considering to buy it if you think the location is not worth it? Certainly, you must some positive thoughts of this location for the future to even consider it.
Edelweiss is in a area that has not much amenities and slightly inconvenient in terms of public transport. But it does have its charm in its rather exclusive and very serene environment. If it is a very bad area, no one will stay there. However, there are so many condos and landed homes in this area. There is definitely demand for this location for what it can offer than city area, or even prime residential areas, such as D11 and D15, can't provide.
If you are thinking about the long term future, no you will not make a loss. You will make a loss if you do not buy, for the long term. If you are staying to stay, of course you must like the condo and the location. If you are buying purely for investment, the psf price rose from $600plus last year to $700plus$800 now. There are no significant upgrade in this location and its amenities. Why did the price rise? Because the property market rose. If you are not speculating, with a short investment timeframe, you will not lose money in property investment.
Therefore, consider whether Edelweiss is the right buy for you. No one can tell where the market will go short-term, and every one knows where the market will go long term. Buy Edelweiss if you have confidence that this location will still hold appeal to homestayers and tenants in the future. Do not buy if you have no confidence in this location.
Thanks!
