Currently our condo is under my husband''s name and loan is cleared and he is debt free. I have a lot of CPF funds and reasonable cash to invest. I am interested to look for a property to invest but is not clear of the payment by cash and CPF. My budget is not more than 3k per month of financing by cash. Is there any recommendation? Tks

Hi Janny,

Firstly, if your current condo is not under your name, you can use all your CPF to finance the repayment.

Secondly, as your husband has no outstanding housing loan. Bank will grant maximum 80% loan.

Therefore, based on the information that i mentioned. You should not have any problem getting a 2nd property for investment.

If based 20 years loan repayment period. You could probably loan about $500,000, if the monthly repayment not to exceed $3,000.

Morning Janny,

As for investment, you would have to consider your holding period and future intention of this investment unit.
I believe you won't want to put good money into waste, and prefer it to provide better return, when your projected investment period matures.
