Dear agents, I have yet to make a decision on whether I should proceed with RES but i have a few reservations/questions. Is there a market for agents who do not look like your regular agent (coloured hair, tattoos, artistic looking) and is there already a niche market for LGBT home owners/buyers/tenants, and freelancer buyers/tenants? I do not plan on marketing myself as your run-of-the-mill agent: is there an existing team that is open to this? I feel like there is are severely underserved groups and am interested in working with them, as that is where my networks lie. Times are changing and the image of trustworthiness/ethical standards may not necessarily be the same as it was 10years ago, but all that i have seen so far is very cookie-cutter and daunting for me, thus my indecision.

Hi there,

Real Estate Business is all about your network. Some agents pay top dollars to buy luxury or high performance cars in order to get into that circle of influence to prospect, therefore I believe that you will also have your own network to work on for the real estate business. Furthermore, having tattoos and coloured hair is pretty common these days as I believe many in their late 20s or early 30s are already exposed to, therefore it is definitely not an issue if you have the right business traits and practise to prove yourself that you are the right person for the job.

I have been in the real estate business since 2009, with more than 10years of experience serving the Singapore real estate market.

I am very active in the residential segment of Singapore real estate market, having transacted hundreds of deals from HDBs to private condominiums and landed properties in Singapore, and have handled many unique cases in sales and purchases as well as rental deals.

Over the years, I have also established a network reaching out to more than 9,400 expatriates, bringing my market presence to both in and outside of Singapore. This has created an additional exposure when I manage my client's portfolios, on top of the conventional on and offline platforms, where other estate agents are relying on. This has allowed me to consistently convert leads into results.

With an evolving market, where change is the only constant, I have also been investing in upgrading of my knowledge and skills sets to improve myself and meet the demands of current and future market.

I think your sexuality will have its own pro and cons .

While there may be some who are biased against you , however there will be some who favours you , so it will pretty much even up.

Most important , is for you to be relevant and add value in your work , regardless of your sexuality.
