I want to sell my flat and I engaged my agent from company A. He didn't do a good job in promotion and services but somehow i managed to get my own buyer. I've just submitted the resale application.
Then i was notified by email by my agent that he has changed his estates agent to Company B and request me to issue amount payable to the new estates agent by acknowledging my signature on the e-mail he sent because he want to ask company B to issue invoice for resale transaction.

Is that OK? I'm i not breaching any rules if I acknowledge? I'm not familiar with the rules and could you advise me what should i do or how should I proceed?

The timeline and content of the original estate agency agreement will be important. We are unable to advise or provide opinion just from the above. If the transaction was done when the agent was in company A, but he wish to submit under company B since he has switched agency, I believe this is not right.

Is the buyer from effort of your advertisement or did the buyer come to you based on your agent's advertisement (bypass agent)?

    I will submit the case to the agency which i have clocked in the sale with, at the point where offer was accepted and this is what i always tell any agents who intend to join me. anyway, if you are not bounded by the agreement where you will need to pay commission regardless of who finds the buyer, then you do not need to pay any commission too.

    At which stage does " transaction" refers to?
    OTP was before and resale application was after. Besides, I wasn't inform of his change after the resale was submitted.
    The buyer was from effort of my own advertisement.
