Hello agents, I have a question regarding the HFE. We are purchasing a resale flat, and our HFE is set to expire in October. If we, as the buyers, submit the resale application before the HFE expires, but the seller submits their part a few days after (as they are able to do so from their end as system allowed), will this cause any issues? Because from my understanding, it is just that both seller and buyer need to submit their application within 7 days apart and we had no prior understanding that it also means my HFE has to be valid even to the point when seller submits. Please advise. Thank you!

I have a similar case whereby my buyer's HFE was expiring so I wrote to HDB to get their confirmation. Their reply is " Both buyers and sellers have to submit their portion of resale application before the HFE letter expiry date".

HDB application needs to be completed by both Buyers and Sellers before the HFE expires, for the application to be considered as completed.
Do collaborate with the seller on the submission. If that fails, write in to HDB for concessional appeal.

Hi

Unfortunately your HFE letter must still be valid at the point of a completed submission (both buyer n seller portion submitted and in the system). Even though the seller may still be able to submit, when the officer reviews your application, they may or may not accept the application citing HFE letter expiry of the buyer. It is suggested you write in as soon as possible on the feedback form to highlight the issue, so they can look in to it.
