Hi all, Can you please advise me whether is this work attitude/business practice acceptable? i.e. When our agent received the valuation rpt, he didn’t bother to notify us our house value (to know the value.. I have to enquire!) BTW, I have reimbursed him the valuation report fee but till todate, he didn’t give me the original copy! ! I also have difficulties communicating with him. I seldom call/message him. However, at times, I still need to communicate with him. Many occasions, I return his call or reply his text messages... I have to await his “delayed” response or no response at all. Even if he picks up the call, his usual response will be “I am busy.. call you back”. Sometimes, we do not know whether did he follow up with the buyer’s agent/buyer. Thanks.

Afternoon, Valuation report are in soft copy but your agent can opt to print you the hard copy, since you have paid for it. As for the lack of communication, you might want to discuss it directly with your representing salesperson. If you are very unhappy with the service which you have received, you are free to terminate the services anytime, with SMS or email notification. FYI Mike Lim 96929209  m52i@yahoo.com ERA Read More

Thank you Mike! Appreciate your time and kind reply/advice. Do I have to list out the reason for termination in my email? Many suggested me to write to the company/lodge complaint to CEA.. but I thought it will be too harsh on him. I afraid I may jeopardise his career.

The agent's behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional in several ways:

1. **Lack of Communication:** The agent should proactively inform you of the valuation results and provide a copy of the report, especially since you paid for it. Delayed or no responses to your calls and messages are also unprofessional and show a lack of respect for your time.

2. **Transparency:** You should be kept informed about any follow-ups with potential buyers or their agents. This lack of transparency raises concerns about whether the agent is actively working on your behalf.

3. **Not Providing the Original Valuation Report:** You are entitled to the original valuation report you paid for. The agent not providing it is unacceptable.

**What You Can Do:**

* **Talk to the Agent:** Express your concerns directly to the agent and request a copy of the valuation report. Clearly communicate your expectations regarding communication and updates.
* **Contact the Agency:** If the agent is unresponsive or uncooperative, escalate the issue to their agency. Inform the agency about the agent's unprofessional behavior and seek their intervention.
* **Consider Terminating the Contract:** If the issues persist and you are dissatisfied with the agent's service, you can consider terminating the contract and finding a new agent who will prioritize your needs and communicate effectively.
* **File a Complaint:** If necessary, you can file a formal complaint with the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) about the agent's conduct.

**Remember:** As a client, you deserve to be treated with respect and kept informed throughout the process. Don't hesitate to voice your concerns and seek a resolution. You can find more information and resources on the CEA website: [https://www.cea.gov.sg/]
