You may qualify for HDB’s Assistance Scheme for Second-Timers (ASSIST). ASSIST scheme is a priority scheme for divorcees with children. This would entitle you to apply and ballot for a BTO immediately after your divorce. However, the HDB divorcee scheme qualifies you for 2-room Flexi and 3-room Standard flats. You must also have at least one child 18 years old or under.

Alternatively, you can forgo the HDB divorcee scheme and ballot for a new BTO flat as a single. You can do so if you are over 35 and have only owned one BTO flat before, but you will be limited to 2-room Flexi BTO flats.

Alternatively, you can consider resales units if you would like a bigger place or other locations or get the house earlier and I will be happy to assist you.

Hi,

1) You are eligible under the ASSIST priority scheme to apply for a 2-room flexi and 3-room flats in Standard projects offered in BTO exercises only if you include at least a child under 18 years old in your application.
2) However, you have to be very lucky to get a flat under this.
3) The flat allocation for this is under part of the quota of the flat supply set aside for 2nd timers which is 15% of the total flat allocation. And only 5% is allocated for those under the ASSIST scheme. This means that only 50 success cases among a 1000 applicans.
4) You may go ahead towards this path if time is not an essential factor in your plan.
5) In average it is 25% successful case for a 1st timer application to have a chance to select a flat takes about 2.5 years. You can do your maths.
6) Alternative, if you wish to settle down fast you will have to consider a resale flat under the Single citizen scheme.
