Hi, on behalf of my brother who is bachelor above 35 years old. His ordinary account CPF about 25k. He never bought a house before and currently staying with my father. He is tenant in-common of the house. Recently, he wants to have his own house and would like to know if he is eligible to buy a house under bachelor scheme? Thank you.

Hi,

I would think he is listed as occupier unless there were something happen to make him otherwise.

But if he is listed as Tenancy-in-common of the current house. He will be identify as 2nd timer instead of 1st-timer.

Whichever case, he is still eligible to buy a resale HDB flat under Single S Citizen Scheme.

If you are asking whether he is eligible for 2-room BTO, I would afraid he is not eligible if he is TIC now.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

    Hi,
Thank you for your prompt reply. My brother is tenancy in-common not occupier. For such, even though he is eligible for single scheme will he be able to secure HDB or single scheme grant? Since his CPF is around $25k.
    Thank you.
