The moment you have doubts, it is better to stay put in your current comfort zone in my opinion.

In all industries, be it self employed or employee, I always believe that 80/20 rule applies. 20% of self employed will do well and earn good money, while the employees are high flyers, climbing up the corporate ladder with their impressive performances, while the remaining 80% are left to progress or stay stagnant.

As a team manager who does team building, it is not in my interest to just recruit blindly and just want the number of headcounts reporting to me, but building a team that produces results will benefit me indirectly through the overriding as a team manager.

Hi there!

Your question sounds very much like a friend of mine, we have just recently met up over a gathering. It cannot be answered within a few short sentences but I'll try to help the best way I can. I've entered the property industry after serving army, with a diploma, with no prior corporate work experiences. Looking back, I'm happy I made that decision.

-Find out more about "Rich Dad Poor Dad" cashflow quadrant, understand that you will be leaving a world of stability into a world of unknown.
-Look for a strong company, a strong team with proven track record.
-Meet up with as many agents as you can, there is an overriding fee to the person whom you joined under. Find a mentor that has already achieved what you want and learn from him/her. Find someone you are comfortable and willing to talk to.
-Set aside a working fund to start your "business" and a "survivor fund" to feed yourself and pay your bills, you won't want to work under
-Give yourself a reasonable deadline, it's very difficult to start generating sales at the start of your first few months.
-Don't go part time, there's only do or don't, there's no try. Doing part time will only do you more harm in the end.
-Be prepared to work more than the normal working hours.
-Be ready to fail a lot many times.
-Don't give up

Hi, there's never a "best time" to join the real estate industry. Most important is to be versatile and adaptable to the market. For example, my team and I are focusing more on overseas properties, commercial and industrial properties at the moment since residential market is quieter. Although we have also done well in the local condo projects that sold well such as High Park Residences :)

You could also consider starting off part-time like some of my associates, who then convert to full-time when they see the results and go on to become Top Producers.
