Hi Gurus, it seems like there are a lot of sale transactions going on in the last 2 quarter and the increase is almost 59% from the URA site. I intend to get a condo but is it good time to buy now? For my case,I can still stay at my parent place. So should I buy now or next year. Need advice.

If your considerations is purely based on dollars and cents, there is no harm waiting further, no doubt that there seems to be a return of activities in terms of transactional volume but prices are still soft.

If you are looking to purchase of a good unit for own occupation, then perhaps anytime now if you come across a suitable unit which fits your purpose and pricing considerations will be a good buy. It is all about the supply and demand of units which will affect a home-buyer's decision. Weak market doesn't mean you have good or suitable units to purchase.

It is a good time for entry now as prices have more or less stabilized and government has no intention to removed the property cooling measures in the near term.

There are more supply as compared to demand in the market currently and sellers are more motivated to reduce their asking price with many properties going at fire sale prices below valuation.

If you can afford comfortably, then it is better to buy early since interest rates are still low and you have a place to stay, you can rent the unit out to enjoy positive cash flow every month.
