Hi, Gurus.

I've a HDB that is fully paid & have intention of buying private housing.

Currently our HDB was fully paid & both of us(me & wife)have some spare in our cpf ordinary acct. Can we use it for private housing d/p? Thereafter can we pay the monthly mogage installment by cpf?

PLs advise.

Hi Simon,

For any private property, the 1st 5% must be in cash. You can't use CPF. Next 15% you can use CPF or cash or combine. The balance 80% bank loan you can use CPF to serve the monthly installment.

Since private property has dropped by almost 20%, if you are financially ok and have the first 20%, you can always invest in a private, and then rent out your HDB for rental yield. This is one option you can go to maximise your investment. Or sell your HDB and upgrade to private.
