Asked by
Hi Gurus, my partner and I are considering getting a HDB flat. She had her SG citizenship approved (IPA letter received back in June 2021 and final stage approval letter during July) and she is to surrender her Msia IC and passport during Nov 2021. As for me, I'm an SPR for more than 3 years.
1) Are we eligible to bid for an SBF unit, now that my partner has not fully completed her journey?
2) Will there still be ABSD and $10k SC/SPR premium incurred?

Hi,

1) Congratulation to your partner's success in conversion. She will enjoy all citizens' housing benefits once she collected the relevant document.
2) You may submit your BTO/SBF application once she finally collects her new citizen passport. Till then there is nothing you can do now.
3) She will collect a paper slip NRIC but only will collect her passport one week after. You may put up an application for HLE and at the same time apply for BTO/SBF after the collection.
4) No ABSD incurred using SC/SPR status for any purchase; BTO/SBF or resale HDB.
5) If buying a resale HDB flat, you are also eligible for the family grant of $40k on top of the EHG and PNG.
