Hi. This is regarding the 14k ceiling cap for both hdb grant and hdb loan.

We already have a HFE letter last year valid til June 2024. But as of this month after receiving bonus, our monthly average income would have exceeded 14k.

We are looking to either apply for SOBF or get a resale flat. Does HDB reassess your income before giving you the grants and loans when you are signing the letter or will they only look at the last HFE letter submitted?

They do not look only at a single month but overall 12 months period. My understanding is that they do not require further income proof unless there is a specific reason for them to do so. Read More

My Answer with regards to your Question:

HDB typically considers your average income over a 12-month period rather than focusing on a single month. When you apply for grants and loans, they usually assess your income based on the information provided in your HFE (HDB Financial Evaluation) letter. Unless there are specific reasons for them to do so, they generally do not require further income proof beyond what was submitted with your HFE letter.

Hi,

1) All bonuses will suffer from a 30% haircut. This means only 70% of the amount is taken into account in the MSR tabulation.
2) Yes, the HDB might reassess your income when you apply for grants, but usually not for loans only.
3) So far, the recent cases who applied for grants and HDB loans submitted lately did not request for the payslips, but it might change anytime.
4) I strongly suggest you get a firm answer from the HDB since you are on the borderline case.
5) The damages could be serious without a firm black and white from the authority.
6) You may reach them via https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BF12AWFeedback/BF12SFrontController?service=ServiceFeedback&operation=createFeedback
