Hi, I recently booked a 3-room BTO under the single scheme after forming a family nuclear. The expected key collection will be in Dec 2027. My partner and I are planning to ROM in 2026. He owns a HDB which only MOP in 2029. I understand there can only be one matrimonial home. However, we wish to keep my BTO and sell his HDB instead. Will HDB allow us to do so and what are the things we need to do to keep the BTO.

1) I found it strange from your description.
2) You should be only allowed to apply for a 2-room flexi flat under a single citizen scheme and not a 3-room BTO.
3) You mentioned that you had formed a family nucleus, with who? It can't be forming with your partner as his name cannot be under the occupier when he has a flat under the MOP.
4) However, your understanding of only one matrimonial HDB flat for a married couple is correct.
5) I believed the HDB will be the better channel to answer and grant your wish.
6) Therefore, you should approach the HDB for help in this case. The appeal can be done via their feedback channel:
