Hi, I'm married with one kids and i already have a PR in Singapore together with my wife. i would like to own a HDB flat. i would like to know what is the condition for me to own a HDB flat and i have a property in Malaysia. Does it effect the housing loan?

Good morning,

Both you and your wife must have been SPR for more than 3 years in order to be eligible to purchase resale HDB unit. With the Malaysia property, if you can provide evidence indicating that the property was not purchased for personal usage, ie: for parents to stay, you can write in to HDB to appeal for it.

Good morning Shahrul,

Do take note that both of you must be SPR for at least 3 years in order to be eligible to purchase a resale HDB.

Secondly, you will have to dispose off your overseas property within 6 months from purchase completion. If you will like to keep it, I will advise you to appeal first before purchase.

Lastly loan will be based on your combined income.
