I think it is quite unfair to be experiencing such practise from agents from putting on advertisements for units that is non-existent, but also if you do not have evidence in that agents are collecting commission from both landlord and tenants, which is this case is not permitted by regulations, then it is unfair for you to make this remark too.
In every businesses, I am sure we experience the good and bad aspects as well as good and bad business owners. Similar, agents also experience good and bad clients, as it is all part and parcel of living in this world. In the event that you feel frustrated for your home search, then probably 1 good option is to consider engaging the services of an agent to help you source for the property at a professional fees. Furthermore, agent will conduct legislative checks on landlords to protect your interest in the transaction. I have ever encountered a situation where tenant has to be evicted from the property after moving in as landlord was a bankrupt which created alot more inconveniences for the tenant than paying commission.
