Hi,
My husband and I are due for the registration as new Singaporean citizens. We're looking to buy a condo soon. Can we exercise the OTP after the registration process or are we required to wait for the physical IC?

Hi,

Ideally it is best to wait for the NRIC card to be issued to be sure about the purchase. This could mean a significant difference in stamp duties amount and it is good to be prudent.

1) No matter which stage you are in now, as long as your offered OTP date is before the date to collect your actual ID (not the paper slip) and passport. You are still deemed as SPR.
2) To ensure you enjoy the SC benefit of exemption from ABSD on buying the 1st property in Singapore. Do not rush into the process and regret later.
