Hi my partner and i are currently working (combined income of more than 14K per month). I am planning to take a break from work for 3-4 months as it’s affecting my mental health ( and as my partner will be the only one working- our combined income will be less than 14k per month). Does this means that we would now be eligible for the family grant for resales now that we earn less than 14K? How long would I have to stop working for in order for HDB to access me as unemployed, and base only on my partner pay?
( is it three months?)

Do they also count in bonus when accessing the income eligibility?

Hi,

Yes, you're right. You will be able to enjoy first timer family grant if your combined monthly household income is below $14k. You will need to submit your income documents during your resale application.

If you're unemployed at the point of resale application, you will need to submit past 15 months CPF contribution history to HDB for their assessment for CPF Housing Grant.

For your spouse who's employed, he/she will have to submit past 3 months payslip, and past 15 months CPF contribution history. If your spouse is self-employed, instead of 3 months payslip, he/she will have to submit the latest NOA statement.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Hi,

1) Theoretically your assumption is correct.
2) However, whether you are eligible for the grants will still be subject to HDB approval.
3) As long as you stop working for 1 month you are considered unemployed.
4) Bonus is counted as the income eligibility but at a hair-cut rate of 70%, since this is variable and not necessarily available.
5) Note that your unemployment status must be consistent at the point of resale application submission till the completion of the purchase. This period shall be at least 3 months long.

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
