Hi, Please consider this situation: Myself and Mywife are on SPR status and bought a 5 room HDB is Mar'11 (MOP Mar'16). If in case I get transferred to another country for work, I would like to know my options regarding my HDB flat. 1. Can I sell it in open market by taking an approval from HDB? 2. Can i just leave the flat empty, come back after MOP is done and sell it in open market (do I have to physically stay in the flat to complete the MOP since if I do not give it on rent, it is still occupied by me even though i am not physically residing in the flat) 3. any other option. Thanks in advance

Morning, If you are required to go for overseas assignment, you can request to rent out the unit during your absence. However, it's subjected to approval, limited to max of 5 years, and the years of rental will not be counted in your MOP. With this being said, you will not be eligible to market your unit after your work assignment ends. Do feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.
