Technically you need to wait for 15 months if you are looking to purchase a resale HDB, but in your case, you may wish to appeal to HDB to waive off the 15 months wait, before you start selling your current place.

Hi

If your spouse has not turned 55 years old, you need to wait out 15 months after selling the private property before you can be eligible to purchase resale HDB. For BTO new flat, you need to wait out 30 months after selling private.

When both of you are 55 years and above, you can purchase resale HDB 4-room and smaller immediately after selling the private property no issue.
