How long does a room rent contract process take usually?

I’m currently overseas and I cannot go around for actual viewing in advance.
If possible, I want to sign the contract overseas and fly to sg as my rent starts

1. Is requesting video taping current condition of room or live video call instead of in person viewing common?
2. How long does whole contract process usually takes in SG? From viewing to moving in like with LOI and signing TA.
3. How short can I make it possible if I rush things?

Hi, to answer your questions, video viewing is possible. The whole contract can be as fast an a day to even a week, depending on the availability of documents. To rent a unit in singapore, you need a valid work pass. It can be done fast if everything is in order.

For room rental, from inspection to move in date, it can literally be done in minutes as long as the room is ready for move in, given that it does not require to transfer utility account. All should be in place. While you can do an online viewing, there will still be certain amount of risks involved for you as a tenant, given that in order to secure the room, you will need to make a deposit payment to the landlord, and without actually verifying the identity of landlord and the physical room itself with the address, you could be falling prey to a scam.
