To many of us in the industry, we see ourselves as Business Owners under our Agency branding. A Business owner not only takes calculated risk but also invest $$$ into the business. If you want to make big money, then you should rethinking the expectation of a basic salary. There are leaders who pay some form of basic salary, but they are deploying these people as runners/door openers for the small deals and not as serious partners to make big money together.
Every successful agency has it's merit depending on their positioning, targeted real estate segments and branding.
Some agency target the high end market, others are champions for the mass market or HDB market. Some agencies are strong in commercial & industrial, others are better in project launches. There are lots of money to be made in real estates, the pie is big. The most important thing a good mentor can do is to understand your background, your strength and weakness, you passions, your likes and dislikes as well as your potential. With that knowledge, he/she will be in a better position to recommend which agency and what market segment is better for you.
