Nope he can’t purchase a HDB flat by himself in that case due to the fact that you own a private property.

Hi,

He has to include your name to purchase the resale HDB, after you guys are married, since both of you are considered one family entity. And yes you will have to sell away the condo.

Hi,
After marriage, if your fiancee were to buy a HDB flat, you would need to sell your condo. As such, if she is over 35, she should buy a HDB now, before marriage, so that the rules do not affect the both of you.

If she is below 35, then, tough luck.

He is eligible to purchase resale HDB if he is 35 years old or above as a single. He will not be eligible to purchase if he is under 35 years old or after both of you get married since you are an owner of a private residential property. You will need to dispose your interest in the condo, wait out for a period of 15 months before he is eligible to purchase a resale HDB. Read More
