I applied BTO flat with my wife in 2014 and collected key in 2018. Can I gift my HDB ownership(50%) to my wife? She is SPR, we have 3 Singaporean children.
my neighbor who is married owns the flat alone without his spouse, I am also curious how he can own it alone as a married person.

Hi Sir,

Under current ruling, HDB does not allow you to "transfer your ownership" to your Wife, unless in the case of a divorce.

Your neighbour probably put himself as the Sole Lessee, with his Wife as the essential occupier at the point of purchase. This way, his Wife will be able to purchase another private residential property as her first property after fulfilling the 5-year MOP.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
