I have a friend who rented her place out in May via a real estate agent. May I know what is her rights if the agent holds onto the sum and fails to remit the monies? Where can she seek help should it be needed?

Morning Ms. Wong,

Under CEA ruling, salesperson are not allowed to hold onto any transaction monies. Hence the salesperson have inflinge the code of conduct. You might want to seek assist with small claim court and CEA for this.

Hi Ms Wong, very simple...your friend could threaten the agent by lodging a complaint to CEA. Hope it helps.
