Perhaps the "negative reports" are things such as "no value".
Can't sell in the future. Not many people want to buy. "You will have a negative sale!"
You will probably hear all these.
My answer: Yes and No. Depending on how much cpf is used, how old you are. Are you using more cash. A few variables.
Price wise many not be able to appreciate much but hey that's why you're buying at a lower price to begin with.
Essentially ask yourself,
(1) pay lesser for bigger space to enjoy but not much appreciation. Or
(2) pay more for lesser space, bigger loan, bigger monthly instalments but can potentially enjoy better capital appreciation in the future. Especially for private.
Will you trade many years of space for money?
No wrong answer. Either ways is correct.
