Dear sir/madam,

If you are purchasing a private residential property in Singapore as co-owners with your friend who is a non-Singaporean, you will be subjected to Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty rate of 20% on top of the normal buyer's stamp duty of either 3% or 4% depending on the purchase price, whether you are a Singapore Citizen or SPR.

There could be some structuring involved if you are looking at how you can reduce the stamp duties payable in this situation.

For HDB need to get approval based on eligibility.
