I'm a Singapore Citizen and wife is a LTVP holder. Currently she is pregnant. I appealed to HDB for public rental scheme on the grounds that I'm currently unemployed and my wife is pregnant and no family support. My wife temporarily works in overseas due to our financial situation and she earns about $6k plus. Since she works overseas no CPF contributions and she plans to quit the job and focus on giving birth in Singapore.
HDB rejected our appeal and asked us to apply for HFE and buy a flat instead. My question is how can someone apply for HFE I don't have a job in Singapore and my wife working overseas with no CPF contributions. Also should I re-appeal explaining to them our situation. They suggest renting from open market but it is very expensive. Any suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated.
