Hi, I am a SPR and my wife and newborn daughter are Singaporean, we are living in a resale HDB owned under my wife and my name, without any CPF grant. We are considering to buy a new EC (under my wife and my daughter name) and to let go the HDB afterward. My wife and my daughter combined income is less than 12k/month, but exceed 12k/month if include my income. Do we still qualify?

Hi,

To qualify for new EC, both applicants have to form a family nucleus, and in your case, your name must be included since you are both legally married. Which means to say you will become ineligible since the income ceiling exceeds. You can try to appeal but chances are slim, even exceeding by a few hundred dollars, cases are rejected so they are quite strict.

Will you consider Private Condos instead? Thanks and hope to understand your housing requirements further.

Warm regards,

Afternoon,

As your current status is married, both your name and your spouse must be the owner of the unit.
