Hi Sir/Mdm,

In my opinion, it is better to buy a 2 bedroom condo for own stay or for investment. You will be able to enjoy a bigger space for own stay and if you were to sell in the future, there is potentially a bigger pool of potential buyers as compared to a 1 bedroom unit.

For $900k, I suppose your obvious options will be limited to 1 bedroom unit or at most 1 + Study for resale developments. Whether it is advised for investment plus own stay, it really depends on the attributes of that development you are keen in.

Cheap options may not necessarily means they are good or will give you the returns that you are looking for, while expensive options may generate demand that will allow the investment to be profitable. Hi, while 1bedders are affordable and seem like a good steal for you, it might or might not be the best development you have in mind.

Usually 1bedder has a lower capital appreciation and is mainly used to generate rental income, and while it might be good for own stay in the short run, it might surface an issue of lack of space after awhile.
