Is a couple (one Singaporean-Chinese and one foreigner) eligible to buy HDB flats (BTO/SBF) or can they only buy private flats? I've tried to apply through HDB website but got declined. Thank you.

Hi,

Unfortunately no, SC / FR cannot apply for BTO or SOBF . You can purchase resale HDB or private condo no issue. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi,

Under your case, the only scheme available is Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme, who only eligible for new 2-room flat in non-mature estate.

The other conditions are:
(1) You must be at least 35 years old to be eligible to apply for Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.
(2) Monthly household income cannot >$6k
(3) Do not own other properties overseas of locally, and have not disposed of any within last 30 mths.
(4) You're 1st timer.

If you are not able to meet the above any of the conditions listed above, then your only option is resale HDB flat.
