Is it possible to setup GIRO standing order with a tenant?

If yes, do both sides (landlord and tenant) need to inform their respective banks? What is the procedure?

Is there also an option for the bank to notify me if payment failed for a particular month?

If the tenant topped up his empty bank account 2 months later with the rental $, will the GIRO order help to deduct retrospectively since it failed for the last 2 months?

Hi Luigi, yes you could request that the tenant set up a Giro standing order with a bank but it is not compulsory. As most of the tenant still prefer to transfer online all by themselves.
