My household income is currently over the HDB income ceiling of SGD8K and SGD10K (for EC) for buying new flats. My wife and I are looking to buy our very 1st property but private property would stretch our finances too thin as we are also expecting our 1st kid this coming February. Are there any steps we could take to get special permission from HDB to buy a flat or maybe to ask MP for a letter of recommendation or something? What can we do? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dear Mr Han,

You may wish to cosider buying a resale HDB unit and applying for bank loan instead of HDB loan. the current bank rate are better as compare to HDB loan. All you need todo is constantly update on the loan interests and if need be change the bank every 2 years to secure the lowest interests.
