My wife and I had viewed a resale unit and informed the house owner agent that we could only afford it with contra of our unit. The said agent had workout sum of the unit with contra of my unit. Accordingly we had placed deposit and signed the otp without more explaination. We had engaged the same agent for our unit as easier for contra of my unit and knowing our financial situation. I had messaged him if the first hdb appointment for the resale unit is after there a buyer for our unit and he had replied "something like that". However, after 3 months later, he wanted us to book the first appointment for the resale flat without releasing my unit. I had went through other advice and manage to explain to the house owner. In the end forfieture my $5k deposit and houseowner had committed not pursue the matter. I had managed to talk to houseowner again without the agent presence and found out that house owner is also doing a contra for his unit and the agent aware both side needed that.
