Single, age 55. Upon selling EC, can buy resale HDB immediately? Can buy resale HDB of any size? Or restricted to only 4 room. Can use up everything in OA account to pay off the new HDB house at age 55?

Good day to you,

As you are aged 55, you will not be required to fulfill the wait-out period after selling your EC. You will be eligible to purchase resale HDB 2-room to 4-room flat.
Upon reaching age of 55, the amount in your OA would have been transferred to SA, forming RA account. You will need to write to CPF Board and request them to hold onto the funds, from the selling of your EC, so that you can utilize it for the upcoming HDB purchase.

At age 55, you can purchase a resale 4 room HDB or smaller unit after selling existing condo. If you are looking at bigger units, you will need to wait out for 15 months period.

As for CPF funds usage, if you do not have the necessary funds in your RA, then you will need to apply to CPF board to set aside the funds from your sale of current EC to finance your HDB purchase.

Hi,

Upon reaching 55 years old, after selling private property you can purchase resale hdb 4-room size and below immediately no issue. You need to set aside your full retirement sum first in your RA before any excess cpf OA can be used for the hdb purchase. You can write in anytime before you reach 55 to request to set aside some funds for property purchase before it goes into the RA.
