We intend to buy resale HDB flat. Both my wife and I are SPR. As I have 2 property in Malaysia which currently. Does my existing Malaysia housing loan affect the bank loan financing margin percentage is we buy resale HDB unit?

Secondly, does I have to fork out cash of 5% of the property price. Or is the whole 20% downpayment can be financed by using both myself and my wife CPF account?

Hi Chee Peng,

1. As PR couple , both of you have to fulfill 3 years PR status in order to purchase a resale HDB flat.
2. You need to dispose your oversea properties within after buying the resale HDB.
3. If buying HDB under Bank Loan, 5% need to be in Cash, remaining 15% will be in CPF/Cash.

As SPR HDB buyers, both of you will need to fulfill 3 years holding before you will be eligible for the purchase. With the existing HDB policy, you will be required to remove ownership on your private property within 6 months from key collection on the HDB unit. As for mortgage loan, bank will loan you max of 80% where 5% down payment can be made in cash while the remaining 15% in CPF.
