The grant dispersed to facilitate the purchase of the first BTO unit will be transferred into the respective OA and can be utilized for the next purchase. With the second BTO, you must pay the HDB resale levy. You will be granted a lower loan quantum as 50% of the cash proceeds from the sale of the first BTO need to be used to pay for the second BTO purchase.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

The CPF housing grant given to you for your first HDB flat will be returned to your CPF OA together with the accrual interests when you sell the flat. However do take note that if you buy a 2nd BTO, you will be subjected to the resale levy. The levy amount is determined by the type of your current HDB flat.

### Summary of HDB BTO Purchase Guidelines

1. **Grant Transfer**
The grant provided for your first BTO unit will be deposited into your CPF Ordinary Account (OA) and can be used for future purchases.

2. **Resale Levy for Second BTO**

Hello,

Here’s what you need to know regarding grants for a second BTO purchase:

- If you received an HDB grant for your first BTO, it won't be transferred back to CPF for use on the second BTO.
- The grant you initially received is a one-time benefit and isn't reusable for subsequent HDB purchases.
- If you sell your first BTO, the grant amount used will be refunded back to your CPF Ordinary Account, together with any accrued interest.
- For a second BTO, you'll need to meet the eligibility criteria for any new grants, which are usually lower compared to first-time buyers.
- Do check with HDB for any available grants specific to second-timers, like the **Step-Up Grant** for those upgrading from a 2-room to a 3-room flat.
