At the moment,me and my sis are joint tenants. Due to some reasons,my sis would like to buy a new house and would like to sell this house.I totally object to this idea.I do not have enough cpf to refund her and i'm trying to find a solution. At first,my sis agree to transfer ownership to my husband and just pay her cpf back but now after seeking an opinion from someone, she insist on wanting to sell the house.I would appreciate if anyone could suggest something without me having selling the house and settle this matter as soon as possible.

Afternoon,

Being joint owner for the unit, if either of you refuse to sell, nobody can move on. If your sister needs the money to move on, both of you can consider part purchase, instead of transferring the ownership. This would allow the both of you to own the current unit, getting a mortgage to service it and your sister can move on with her own planning.

Hi cck,

These are the regulations governing the sale of properties which we have no power to change. What Mike has suggested is a probable solution to do a part purchase instead of transferring the ownership to your husband, however, to do this, you will need to consider the eligibility of your husband to do the part purchase.
