I am 30 years old single male, Singaporean, first timer (with no HDB/private property), and wishes to form a family necleus with my parents to purchase a resale HDB.

We are staying in my sister/inlaw's 4 room flat, our currently relationship with sister & inlaw is not good in a good situation...

Tried to apply HLE but by putting my parents as Occupier, it is required that the essential occupiers not to take more than two HDB concessionary housing loan.

Unfortunately, my parents (Singaporeans) did buy and sell HDB twice before, and do not have any CPF left or any properties, and are unemployed.

1) Are there any ways to appeal (to MP? or something) to get HLE?
I will be the one paying the loan, not them, and we desperately need to get a flat to live with my parents.

2) If HDB loan is not an option, what is the process to get a bank loan? Do i need a listing to get approval?

3) I am not very cash rich, so I am looking for a least cash and feasible option.

Morning Aurora,

As you are under 35 hence your parents are required as essential occuiper. You can definitely appeal for market rate HDB loan but its interest rate is much higher than banks rate. To get bank loan, the approval is subjected to your income status, credit record and loan period. Upon knowing how much loan you can get, we can then work on what location and unit size works for your budget.
